New Year's Day(e) - Progress Report 11/17/24
Hey Everyone!
Sorry for the radio silence lately. Things have been progressing slowly. And by slowly, I really mean "hardly at all". It seems that I wrote myself into a corner without knowing it.
The bad news is, I did a LOT of renders and coding and writing to get myself into that corner, and I may have to scrap it all. This is always pretty discouraging when it happens and I had to take a week or so off to figure out how to fix it and come to terms with the fact that I may have wasted a lot of time and effort.
The good news is that I have now identified the problem, formulated a solution and have begun making progress in a better, simpler, more natural feeling storyline. I had let it take a path that was too heavy and dramatic and it wasn't fun for me anymore. And if I was bored with it, I figure you were DEFINITELY gonna be bored with it. So, I scrapped that content, took it back to where the story veered in that direction, restarted in a new, more lighthearted trajectory, and now I'm getting really excited again.
It's also been a challenge to find time to work on this story because of the new job. Don't get me wrong, I like my new job, but the schedule is all over the place, so setting time aside to do this has been more challenging than it used to be when I was working a 9-5 type job.
But don't worry. I'm not going to abandon this or Siren Song. I love these stories too much to give up on them. I just wanted you all to know where I'm coming from and what is taking so long. If I don't get Chapter 5 done by Christmas, then it'll be done when it's done. Just know I am working on it as much and as hard as I can.

So. Jonesy, Where are we at on the last stable update release? I am trying to find anything newer than the first release and have drawn a blank. I know you are working hard on this one and Siren Song. Don't get me wrong. I am not trying to rush you. I found a long time ago that quality releases take time and also that most developers need to take a break periodically to refresh and get the creative juices flowing again. If and when you need to do this drop us a note so we know you are still around and do what you need to do. I was extremely impressed with Siren Song. Downright quality story telling no matter what anyone else may say. Still picturing the stage and her first time on it. Oh.. And having flashbacks to the phone at the camp. The mind is running 100 miles per hour 7 different directions at once with ideas of where that will lead!!
Hey! I'm gonna post a progress report on Ch5 of NYD soon. As far as stable releases go, the original (non-modded) releases are always available here or on my Patreon or Subscribestar pages. While they may not be 100% completely free of errors, they are the lastest versions of my stuff. I'm so glad you're enjoying my stories. I can't wait to get back to Charlie and Bobby and their continuing adventures.
So will the noncon ending be scrapped and the r+pe tag F95 can be removed?
To me this seemed a bit off base in terms of themes so far. I find the series does have similarities with the rosegarden series.
I am looking forward to where you want to take your games.
Hahaha. No. That would take a lot longer to rework than a week. To do that, I'd have to rewrite half the story. No, this was just a scene or two from Ch 5 that i needed to scrap. Minor setback. I'll finish this story as its been written so far. People on other sites can tag my stuff however they want. They already do anyway.

You have to do what you have to do. I know it sucks to have to back track but if this is what you feel you need to do then it just means a better continuation of the story for everyone :)
