Hey Everyone!

Just dropping in real quick to let you know what's going on.

About a week ago I ran a poll on my Patreon and Subscribestar pages to see what I should be working on releasing first, New Year's Daye Chapter 4, or Siren Song Chapter 2. The results were overwhelmingly in favor of NYD Ch4. 

I am plugging away at it. The follow-up to the ending of chapter 3 has proven to be a bit more difficult than I had imagined, but I'm pleased with how things are turning out. I am doing my best to handle it in a tender, realistic(ish) way while also trying my best to get back on track to the characters and story that we have all grown to know and (hopefully) love.  Things are going to change between Portia and Daye, but I'm not sure if it will be for the better - at least not yet. Supposedly there is a date to go on with Bree. We have Chelsea to think about, as well as Kim and her sister, Lily (AKA Li'l Bit). Plus, there's a New Year's Eve party to coordinate. We still have a lot of loose ends to tie up before midnight on New Year's and as of chapter 4 it's December 29th.

I think the biggest thing I have to look forward to in this chapter is the introduction of choices into the game. Yes, that is correct. After the release of this chapter, this game will no longer be a kinetic novel. If I get done early enough, I want to go back and add some choices to the previous chapters of this story, and possibly even to Christmas Eve. This is huge for me, and as I knew it would be, it turns out that adding choices to the game isn't nearly as difficult as I thought it was. It just took me a loooooong time to figure it out!

I am about 3/4 of the way through act 1 of chapter 4. (Side note: If you aren't  already aware, I think of my chapters as divided up into 3 "acts", but in reality, it's just morning, afternoon, and evening/night.) I am looking forward to getting more done as soon as possible. I'll see how far into act 2 I get by the end of this month. That will give me a pretty good idea of an estimated release date. I'm sure you've noticed I like to set my release dates around US holidays, so right now I'm really gunning for Easter (end of March), but that seems pretty unlikely. It may be as far out as Memorial Day (end of May), but we will just have to wait and see.
