New Year's Day(e)
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
New Year's Day(e) is the continuing story of a single father (MC) and his stepdaughters, Evelynne (Eve) and Dayton (Daye) and their friends Becky and Kaylee. This is the sequel to the story "Christmas Eve" and takes place over the days between Christmas and New Year's. Each Chapter will consist of the events of one day. If you haven't read "Christmas Eve", I encourage you to read it first, but it's not absolutely necessary in order to enjoy this story.
This is a love story of acceptance, overcoming adversity, and healing as the MC's family and friends continue to come to terms with their developing feelings for each other and their grief felt for the MC's late wife, Heather.
Chapter 1 shows us some of the town that our characters inhabit and we meet a few of the other denizens as well. Sparks will fly with some while others are less than amiable.
Chapter 2 is where the drama starts to unfold. Kaylee has a mishap at home, the MC has his job interview, the girls go on a mission, and things start to heat up between the MC and a few of our love interests.
Let's just hope everything goes smoothly for the New Year's Eve party that Dayton is planning.

Are there plans for a Gallery or Scene Replay feature on either of your games?

Thanks! I'm glad to hear you're liking things so far! Chapter 3 is shaping up nicely (or at least I think so), so I hope you like where I take things.
I really want to do a gallery/scene replay options, but the coding is beyond my current skill level (which is pretty weak). I'll get there eventually!

Playing Chapter 2 atm. Slight Critique:

When Kaylee is asked to go with that woman the MC later says that he could be arrested if he didn't let her. Since Kaylee is an adult this isn't true unless he holds Kaylee against HER will. Calling the Police in this situation would've been totally in favor of the MC because the woman was also drunk which would result also the situation being in favor of the MC if the woman had a right to demand Kaylee to come for whatever reason because the MC could just say he protects her against drunk driving. That woman can't make Kaylee do anything she doesn't want to.
You're kind of right, but it was meant to convey that:

keeping Mia there against HER will could possibly lead to a kidnapping charge, not Kaylee. Kaylee is going with Mia voluntarily because of her sense of duty as Mia's daughter. The MC says "You don't have to go", and Kaylee responds, "Yes I do. This time I do."
If that bit was confusing to the reader, I apologize, but that is what I meant to get across.
I appreciate the feedback in any case. I'll read through that part again and see if I can think of a better way to phrase things. Maybe tweak it when I release ch. 3.
BtW, I tried using Butler a while back and couldn't figure it out. I'll try again because I really would prefer to host the files directly on itch. I've sent them messages requesting more space for my games and I never get a response. Thank you for trying to help though. I truly do appreciate it.
It'd be nice if the game(s) would (also) be hosted on itch so we can use the client to automatically update the game.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I've tried different file formats and compressions and can't get it below the 1GB limit without sacrificing tons of visual quality. If anyone knows how to and can help/teach me, I'd really appreciate it.

Any plans on an android version?
Unfortunately, I don't have the skills or the know-how to port it to Android. I wish I did. I've looked into it and it's pretty complicated (at least for me). I'm sure there will be someone who does it for all of us soon. Sorry it wasn't me!

Oh boy!! I can hardly wait!! That's a birthday weekend for me, so it will be my gift to myself and I guarantee that though it will be my only gift, having already experienced the warmth, the joy and the pleasure of "Christmas Eve", I just know this will be the very best gift imaginable.
To me, Dayton is every bit as vivacious and beautiful as her sister and no doubt different in personality, temperament and inclination too, adding both freshness and nuance to this latest wondrous experience of your unparalleled skill and artistry.
I have two questions to ask, if I may, and I hope this isn't the wrong place to be asking them. Firstly, will Episode 1 of "New Year's Day(e)" be individually purchasable on itch.io? Or will it be available only by means of a Patreon subscription? Secondly, have you decided upon a minimum price you intend to charge in exchange for the precious fruits of your most exceptional labor?

Well, happy birthday in advance! Yes, Dayton is a bit different from Eve in personality for sure. While still a sweetheart, she can quickly become a handful. She's a very loyal friend, daughter, and sister, but she's not too big on patience or tolerance. In short, she's a little bit of a hot-head. Most people would call her a firecracker (erhem...pun intended?).
As far as availability and pricing, I think I will be offering this chapter to my Patreon subscribers a bit early, but I will offer it here on Itch with the same optional donation that I have set up for Christmas Eve. I am still learning this craft and this is a labor of love at this point. Maybe once I've become more established as a creator I'll venture into the more complex world of cross-platform marketing and release dates. Seems like a lot of unneeded stress right now.
I'm very excited to see how the world receives this next chapter. I love it, but sometimes that isn't an indication that others will. Either way, I'm not too worried. I do this for myself first. If others happen to like it, then that's awesome. If not, that's OK too.
